Surviving has also
happened in this world. He survived being struck by lightning not once but
almost seven times. Although it may sound like unbelievable information, this
is true.
Generally, there is an idea among people that if lightning
strikes in one place, it will not strike again in the same place, but lightning
does not strike at a place or a person sees it. That's how a man in America was
struck by lightning repeatedly and survived without any damage.
He was such a miracle man that people called him a lightning
arrester. There was a man named Roy Sullivan in Virginia, USA. He was working
as a ranger in a park there. Since he worked in the park, his job was to crawl
around the park, so it was his habit to spend most of his time in the park.
He was struck by lightning for the first time in 1942. Do you
know what happened after the lightning struck him? He only lost the nails on
his big toe.
Do you know what happened when he was struck by lightning for
the second time in 1969? Only his eyebrow hairs were burnt. The third time
lightning struck his head and only his hairs were burnt. Although he was struck
by lightning three times, he suffered only minor injuries, but the sixth time
was in June 1970 when lightning struck him, and he got a big injury on his
ankle.
He was struck by lightning for the seventh time in 1977 again
in the same June when he was hospitalized with burns only on his chest and
stomach.
He was struck by lightning more than seven times, but the
lightning could not do anything to him. The name of this strange man is
included in the Guinness Book. There may be many strange people in this world,
but this person who lived as a bearer of lightning and thunder is strange.
Such strange incidents have also happened in India when
lightning strikes a person it causes great damage as well as when lightning
strikes the place where the lightning strikes but on 30th April 1877 lightning
struck the Amritsar Golden Temple in Punjab do you know what happened when the
lightning struck the north gate of the temple? The lightning that entered
passed over the heads of those praying in the inner prayer hall and exited
through the southern gate.
Neither the Golden Temple nor the devotees who prayed in the Golden Temple were harmed by this lightning. Scientists call this phenomenon ball lightning. During ball lightning, the lightning travels as a ball and loses its energy. It is also surprising that this rare phenomenon has happened in India.
